Biography:

I am Professor Emeritus at West Chester University and Adjunct Professor of Environmental Health at Creighton University. In 1996 I was appointed President of the ACEER Foundation and served until December 2020. During this tenure ACEER helped create two Canopy Walkway systems...in the lowland rainforest and in the Andean cloud forest...and numerous ethnobotanical gardens in support of education and research. It also created a wide array of conservation learning materials in support of local and global audiences. I have served as a faculty leader for numerous university workshops in the Amazon on themes including ecology, conservation, medicinal plants, and transcultural health. I earned a biology degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's in zoology from Michigan State University, and a master of public health and Ph.D. in environmental health from the University of Minnesota.
